Cardio For Weight Loss

by | Feb 9, 2019 | Training

Dancing? HIIT? Zumba? Running? Swimming? Which is better?

Off the bat, I should say that resistance training is probably a lot more important when it comes to losing fat and looking better but we will get to that in another post.

The answer to this questions is very simple – whatever makes you happy!

Weight loss is all about being in a calorie deficit and cardio CAN help achieve this. It can also help further your deficit without reducing the amount of food you can eat…let’s not forget the health benefits also!

What burns the most FAT?

FAT BURNING is not the same as FAT LOSS. You can burn 200k cals of fat and then store that again within an hour of being in your local McDonalds. You can also use carbs as energy and reduce your total body fat by being in a deficit at the end of the day.

Key points:

  1. You need to enjoy what you are doing
  2. Do not use it as punishment
  3. Injuries, back problems etc.? Opt for lower injury exercises – swimming, walking etc.
  4. Ensure you are also resistance training
  5. Forget about what “burns fat”
  6. Stay within calorie deficit
